Where should we go on our romantic getaway?
This December will mark 10 years of being married to Logan. First of all, that’s crazy. I want to say all kinds of cliché things about it like, “Time flies!” and “I don’t feel that old!” However, increasingly I’m because very cozy with the idea of aging. My marriage just gets better the older it gets.
Anyway, that’s not what I was going to talk about. :) We’re trying to come up with the perfect way to celebrate and we’re set on a romantic getaway. Here are some of our ideas so far ::
- We hop a train to Chicago where we let the wind whip our cheeks rosy while eating hotdogs piled with dill pickles and onions. Also, we would visit Wheaton College to see C.S. Lewis’ desk and THE wardrobe. (We are hopelessly nerdy.)
- We fly to San Francisco, our favorite city in the world. We would get to stay with Logan’s sister (I miss her so much!) and so we could spend all the cash we save from free housing on expensive coffee and Apple products.
- We rent a secluded cottage on the coast of Maine and spend our days reading to each other and watching the deer graze at dusk.
I’d love to hear some more ideas, though. What do you think would make for the perfect romantic getaway? Any destinations you are dying to see? I really want to make this vacation special, so I’m all ears!
