What does it mean to be healthy?
I recently happened upon these three interviews on the Anthropologie blog and was so inspired! The interviews were centered around the idea of balance and they asked three fitness bloggers to share their own practices when it comes to maintaining a healthy and happy life. Each woman had a unique approach to balance and fitness and I felt like I learned something from each woman. Here are a couple of my favorite quotes ::
To me, “balance” means being in that amazing place where you are dialed into a healthy routine, and it feels like it takes minimal effort to do it. Taking care of yourself, enjoying life, not trying to be perfect and getting hefty doses of fresh air and saltwater through it all. -Rebekah
My favorite workout is a good, long run. I love the freedom of lacing up my shoes and getting lost in my music and thoughts. There is something liberating about only needing your legs to get a challenging—and mind clearing—workout in. - Shannon
The first thing I do in the morning is go through my gratitude list! There’s something incredibly grounding and humbling about reminding yourself of these things in the morning, and setting intentions for how to spend your energy that day. The last thing I do at night is go through my gratitude list, again! I put my phone on silent after 6 p.m., and limit social media after 7 p.m. - McKel
Also, each woman says that the first thing she does in the morning is drink a big glass of lemon water. Isn’t that interesting? There’s a simple little health tip for ya! :)
What about you? How do you find balance in life? In your opinion, what does it mean to be healthy? What are some practices that have given you more balance and health in your life?
