The Money Saving Challenge
This month’s challenge is The Money Saving Challenge. My friend Torrie came up with the idea for this one and I love it! Not only is it a good idea to work on the discipline of saving money, but at the end of the challenge…you have more money!!! The challenge is simple—find a way to save some money by the end of the month. Here are a few ideas ::
- Set aside money at the beginning of the month and see if you miss it. If not, it’ll be there waiting for you at the end of the month!
- Think of something that you spend money on each month that you could do without (Starbucks; new fingernail polish; Netflix) and save the money you would’ve spent on it.
- Save all your change. (Of course, this may necessitate using cash instead of your card.)
- Just don’t buy anything this month. Besides a few essentials (food, gas, etc.), most purchases can wait thirty days.
If you want a motivator, decide what you’re going to do with the money that you save. You could put in it savings, buy something you’ve really been wanting, give it to a charity you feel passionate about. Whatever you choose to do with it, make sure it’s something that you find exciting, and let that be the motivating factor whenever you save those pennies.
