The Act Like A Kid Challenge
Kids definitely know how to “Christmas” the right way. They’re aglow all month with anticipation, wonder, joy and excitement. With that in mind, the challenge this month is The Act Like A Kid Challenge. Find one way to be like a child this Christmas season and see if it doesn’t bring more anticipation, wonder, joy and excitement into your life. Some ideas ::
- Be active (go sledding, jump on the trampoline, ride a bike)
- Make something that won’t last (a play-dough creation, a block tower, a pretty design on a steamed up window)
- Sleep a lot (go to sleep before 8:30, take a nap, go to sleep at the same time multiple nights in a row)
- Make a Christmas wish-list (really dream big)
As I wrote this list, I thought that maybe one of the sweetest ways that we could act like a child this month is by not worrying. Most kids seem to be deliciously free from worry. They don’t have to worry about where their food, clothes, social gatherings or gifts will come from, because they just trust that their parents will come through for them. Reminds me of Jesus teaching us not to worry, but to trust our heavenly Father, who knows what we need even before we ask.
Anyway, hope you have fun with this challenge! I’d love to hear what you decide to do!
