Farmhouse Table

Logan completely outdid himself on my birthday this year. He planned something fun for me every evening and then, when I walked downstairs after being out on Friday night, I found a farmhouse table in the middle of the room, in all of its rustic splendor. We’ve often talked about how fun having a farmhouse table would be, cramming dozens of kids around it or hosting dinner parties with our friends, but I never had an inkling of the thought that he would get one for me. As soon as I saw it, I started jumping up and down and laughing. Then, I hugged it. I know that’s silly, but it was just a really honest moment for me. :)

There are so many gorgeous ways of styling a farmhouse table. Here are some pictures I’ve been collecting on Pinterest ::

Mint pairs so well with natural wood. These chairs are such a statement, but you could pull the mint green color into the dining room with artwork or a centerpiece if you wanted less of a commitment. (via Glitter Guide)

I can’t ever stop thinking about this dining room. I love the patterned wall, as well as the brownish-gray color. (via Design*Sponge)

Ahhh…Simplicity at its best. This rooms feels like a Parisienne cafe, with impecable details and uncluttered walls and surfaces. (Riazzoli via Pinterest)

This may be my very favorite, though. I’m leaning towards saving up for some of these and some of these and just calling it a day. (via Apartment 34)

What about you? What do you think of a farmhouse table? How would you style it? Any suggestions for my fictional/future dining room?
