Extra Virgin :: What's Your Love Story?
I’ve been reminiscing a lot lately. I don’t know if it’s the holiday season or what, but I keep thinking back to my favorite moments in my relationship with Logan and feeling especially warm and fuzzy and romantic. :) Anyway, it got me to thinking about this blog post from a few years ago ::
I think that one way to learn to love our spouses with an intense, vivid, and vibrant love is to remember their love for us. And I think the best way to do this is by developing our own love story.
At the time I wrote the post, I had been keeping a journal of special moments in our marriage, but I’ve completely stopped doing that. It made me want to pick up the habit again and to read back over those special moments in order to remember and celebrate our unique love.
(As a side note, another reason having a love story is so important is to be able to tell it to your children. I love to tell our love story to Valentine and to create in her a sense that her parents’ marriage is unique and meaningful and important.)
Anyway, I’m getting back in the habit of keeping track of my favorite memories with Logan and I wanted to mention it to see if anyone else does this. Have you ever written down your love story? Do you like to tell your story? Last New Year’s Even, each couple at the party told their story of falling in love and it was one of my favorite moments of a very fun night. What if we all decided to write down our love stories so that we could really remember and cherish them? I would absolutely love to hear your love story!
