Extra Virgin :: "There's no such thing as someone who is good at sex"
Have you ever read an article or a book about sex, but when you tried out the tips with your husband, they totally backfired? It turns out there’s a reason for that. In an article for New York Magazine, Nicole Prause, a researcher at the Sexual Psychophysiology and Affective Neuroscience Lab at the University of California states that, “There’s no such thing as someone who is ‘good at sex’…the expertise isn’t embedded in the information. It’s embedded in the individual.”
What she’s saying is that there’s no one-size-fits-all rule for good sex and so the best way to be a good sexual partner for your husband is to get to know what your husband likes! Don’t study books; study your man!
I love this idea of becoming a student of your husband, because it’s such a sure fire way to build true rapport and intimacy—two of the most important elements in a marriage!
So the next time you see a Cosmo on the shelf at the grocery store that promises “10 Ways to Be A Sex Goddess,” save your money. The best thing you can do is to communicate with your spouse whenever you have sex. “What do you like?” “What don’t you like?” “What would you like to try today?” If you become an expert on your husband, you’ll be an expert on sex!
