AG Book Club :: A Year In Review
I started the AG Book Club back in January of 2015 because I wanted some incentive to read more. Two years later, I’ve read dozens of books, but my absolute favorite part has been the discussion among women that I’ve had because of this club. Every month a group of women gathers in my living room and I’m always amazed at the depth and breadth of the subject matter we cover. There’s almost always a moment when I look across the room at another women speaking and think, “I would’ve never thought of that!”
This past year in particular had some shining moments, such as during the discussion of Maus, when I heard women talk about the important of listening to another person’s story in order to really understand someone. Or when we discussed Mrs. Mike and were brought to tears thinking of the times when we worry about things that don’t matter, instead of caring about the truly important things in life. And another favorite moment when we all gathered to talk about Little Women, a book many of us have loved since childhood and were finally given two whole hours just to talk about it.
Thanks to everyone who participated and have made this such a wonderful part of my life.
