A Fun Activity for Fall Nights
Do you ever listen to This American Life? It’s a radio show out of Chicago that tells true stories (for the most part) about every day people in America. Each week they’ll pick a theme and then tell several stories on that theme. To date, it’s the most popular podcast in the country and has won all major broadcasting awards. More importantly, Logan and I love it, and listen to it all the time on their iPhone app. It’s especially fun on road trips— their stories are every bit as compelling and entertaining as a movie or book.
A couple days ago, Logan sent me an excited text with a link announcing that This American Life is starting Serial, a new feature where they follow the same story for a whole season. The first story is the true account of the murder of a high school senior that took place in Baltimore in the 90s. They caught the killer and sentenced him to life, except that there’s a really good chance that the killer’s still out there…
Sounds exciting, doesn’t it? I can guarantee you that every Thursday night this fall Logan and I are going to be out on the patio, sipping something delicious, and listening to the latest episode of Serial. :)
What about you? Do you listen to This American Life? What’s your favorite episode? (Ours is The Ghost of Bobby Dunbar.) Would you ever spend your evening listening to a radio broadcast? It feels so old-school, like I should be darning socks while I listen. Ha! What are some other fun activities for a lazy weeknight?
